Poverty

Poverty is a common problem around the world from Third World underdeveloped countries to First World developed rich ones.  It is due to factors such as unemployment, lack of opportunity and education, underpayment of workers, lack of resources and training, etc.  Every nation has a money currency to allow the sharing of produced wealth from labour and resources.  For those who are working a wage or salary paid by the hour or monthly determines their worth.  For those who are self-employed, they can price their information, service or product as they wish or as the market is willing to pay.   Local and international demand for a product, service, or information can increase or decrease depending on whether there is a lot or little of it and if it is a necessity or luxury.  Necessity for basic goods like food, water, shelter, clothing, transportation, education, medical versus luxury spending on jewellery, entertainment, fashion.  Whether it is local or imported also determines the price and demand.  Poverty is when even basic needs are not met locally and there are starving and homeless people unable to meet their needs.  Social services and charities try to provide from public funding with government approvals in some countries.  Other countries however do not have a lot of social services and so poor are neglected and suffer, sometimes die from poverty, hunger and homelessness.  If each country can at least take care of basic needs through good financial management and political and legal policies allowing everyone opportunity and access to basic needs, the world will be a better place.  International organizations also try to help develop and provide in the poorer nations with investment in projects and trade.   If we cooperate rather than compete with each other, it will be easier to solve poverty together.
