Graphology is not exactly an widely accepted side of psychology, yet some experts exist and many books describe some basic and interesting aspects of the personality that can be understood from this interpretative art/science. First to be able to adequately understand someone’s handwriting you need to analyze carefully a signed personal letter on unlined white paper, preferably on at least two or three pages. What we will first scan is the strength and general quality of the writing. Is it strongly and well marked? If you turn the paper and can feel the mark left by the pen it may be a sign of energy and good health. A poor general health either physical or psychological can be appreciated by handwriting that is too irregular and blotted all over the page. The markings may be very soft and lacking in energy or purpose. There may be no rythmn or logic and it would be basically very illegible. Another interesting point to discern are the sign of intelligence. These are many and can be appreciated by a handwriting that is neat and has a good cadence. It can be aesthetically pleasing and be very clear and precise. The space of the page will be used generously. There won’t unnecessary flourish and in general the person will seem to have developed its own “font”. Another good sign of intelligence and general culture is the use of Uppercase in print type as opposed to the school-learnt handwritten uppercase letters. A great sign of good and fast mind is also the liaisons between the letters. They will flow easily and be original. For instance, from a t, the upper trait will give “birth” to the next letter. The same will be the case with the print first Uppercase and the vowel that comes next. In the next blog we will analyze what can be said of the person’s personality and emotions by their handwritting and I will try to upload pictures to illustrate the different points made.
