Websites: Vdara Restaurant and Streets.TO Eating and drinking out in Toronto is an experience that can be both appetizing, intoxicating and fashionable. Streets.TO, a promotional marketing website network of fashionable restaurants, helped launch Vdara on Queen Street West to promote Martini Night on Thursdays. The competition along Queen Street West known for its artsy and fashionable set with several galleries, clubs, bars, stores, and restaurants makes the rent and market tough to last. Many businesses come and go within a year of opening, a closing to show how tough it is to attract customers and regulars. Vdara seems to be in a prime corner spot with large window doors that can lift up during the summer, warm brown wood floors and tables with white leather seats, a lighted bar with colourful bottles, muted lighting, another place to dress up and dine and drink. On Thursday nights, Martini Night, a dj will spin tunes in the corner of the bar, while martinis and cocktails are discounted. Dancing can probably happen after the kitchen closes as they will remain open later. Their menu has lunch and dinner items with fancy gourmet items like: 'Khachapuri & Zatar, baked bread stuffed with cheese' 7.95, 'Wild Boar N’ Bison Stew, root veg in a hotpot sided by a Soft Loaf and Churned Butter' $17.95 or 'Braised Alberta shank of Lamb hit By five Spice, red Potato Butter Smash with Sautéed Rapini' $17.95. Their alcohol drinks too have fancy names: 'Love Potion #9', 'Saketini', and 'Passionate Dragon'. Dinner with drinks for 2 on a hot date would probably be about $80 including tip so maybe the working 35+ year old set may be able to hang out here for fun. Or maybe for those who just like drinking and listening to music, maybe dancing and socializing, the Martini Night on Thursdays may be the right night to go and spend a few hours and $20 should buy enough alcohol to get buzzed for the evening.
